For about 2 1/2 years I have been very diligent about taking the kiddos to their eye appointment. Today was Big Man and Goose's eye appointment. Things were no different with either. Big Man's glasses are good and Goose doesn't need glasses (so far ;P). Having said all of that, I was not completely informed until last year's appointment how little I knew about children and eye appointments. If your child has had and eye exam at the pediatric checkup or at a school screening they have not really had their eyes checked. Sorry, but those are seriously lacking and I also learned last year that your child should really start getting eye exams once a year starting at age 3. Just a check to make sure everything is ok. Big Man would possibly have had glasses before age 5. Just six months before his first exam to get glasses, he passed his pediatric eye screening. See what I mean. That is why Little Woman will be having her first eye exam this year since she will be turning 3. If your insurance covers eye exams, why not take advantage for your kiddos. I'll put it to you this way, you don't wait to take your kiddos to the dentist when they complain about having a cavity do you. Just sayin'. So I hope you take this new knowledge and jump on it. :) All for now.
