Crazy Snow

What a crazy two weeks. I finally got my Christmas cards done and my calendars done.

The front page of the calendar. Isn't it cute. The whole thing turned out great again this year. I probably should order one for our family, but I never do. We just get them as gifts. As long as I can get them shipped soon. That's the hard part with 5 or 6 inches of snow falling, it's kind of hard to get to the post office. I can't even make it up my driveway. Speaking of driveway, for all of those who are really wanting to see the house, I'll soon be writing a post about the new house. You know how the season goes and I prefer to spend mine playing with my kiddos. All for now.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Oh man, I ate way too much, but it was good. I started cooking on Wednesday and we had quite the feast. We had family in town for Thanksgiving this year and it was great. I love cooking for other people and I had my wish. We had such a blast with my hubby's parents this past week and hated to see them go. We had Turkey, Homemade dressing, squash casserole, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mac & cheese, crescent rolls, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and pumpkin cheesecake. Sounds yummy doesn't it? The highlight of it all was that the next morning we woke up to a winter wonderland. How's that for decorating for Christmas. I can't wait for them to come back. Check out the pics from our great day. All for now.

Have Thine Own Way

They say confession is good for the soul. Well, it is. As I sit with my Bible I am reminded that it has to be real. It's not about feelings. It's about whole-heartedly serving our wonderful God. Joshua said it perfectly. "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. It can't be about feelings. Those can change on a dime. People are fickle. When we make that commitment openly with our mouths, we're more inclined to follow through. (Romans 10:9-10) Some say it's a cop out, the easy way out. We don't want to deal with life so we claim that "God" will help us and He'll take care of us. The ugly truth is daily surrendering that selfish and human heart and looking back to see the mess you've made without Him. You want the real truth, He is the one who won't screw it up. As I sit and write, one particular song comes to mind. "Have Thine Own Way, Lord".

Have thine own way, Lord
Have thine own way.
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after THY will,
While I am waiting yielded and still.

Did you catch that, THY will, yielded and still. I don't know about you, but that's quite a difficult task for someone with a strong and independent personality. So hows that for a cop out. This is not the easy way out, but this is most definitely the way I have chosen and am proud to serve and daily surrender to the Creator of our universe. If you get a chance, check out the rest of the verses to that beautiful song.
"As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
All for now.

Happy Birthday my Love!

Today was a great day. We celebrated my hubby's birthday today. We spent most of the day out and about running errands and such, but it was so great to have him home and to be able to spend time with him. It was quite a Fun Food Friday. For dinner we had a Ground Beef Spanish Rice dish and for dessert, we had Angel Lush. Oh yea, did you know the Angel Lush only had 182 calories per serving and it tasted amazing. It's also Fix-It Friday, but we were so busy today that I didn't get a chance to do it. I did however get a call from an out of state stranger wanting to book a photo session. It was awesome. Luckily we just happen to be heading that way soon so that will be interesting to meet someone new and capture their daughter's second birthday in photos. Now it's time to finish the day with a movie and good company. All for now.

Bye Bye Van

Alright, let me show you my anniversary present my hubby let me get.
I've wanted a truck for a long time, and yesterday the hubby finally admitted to convincing me into the van that we had. With problems starting to arise with the van, we decided to trade her in. A lot of things are happening in our house right now. The move is flying up on us and we actually already have a date for the movers to come. By the end of next week, we will be homeless, well, stuffless (if you can call it that). :P I will keep you posted on all the new events happening in our household including a possible Etsy shop opening by me and my "sister". I'll let her tell you the name since she came up with it. Hopefully soon she'll be posting a blog and pics of our work. You can check out her blog too. It's pretty awesome,(http://armywifedailylife.blogspot.com/ ). Also, since some of my customers read my blog, Dee's Photography will soon be moving to Kentucky so if you would like to book a session this weekend, give me a call. All for now.

Creating Frenzy!

Just a few weeks ago I was inspired by a tote bag that one of my friends was carrying and it was super cute. I asked her where she got it and of course, she said, "Yard Sale." Of course. No chance of rushing right out and buying one. Then I thought about it. I'll just make it. So I had lots of leftover fabric at my house and I went home and started thinking about my plans. Now I'm making the bags like crazy and loving them. I'm getting better at my process with every bag I make. I will definitely be posting some pics soon so you can tell me what you think. All for now.

Photography: Fix-It Friday #66

Well, it's that time again. We cheated for Fun Food Friday and had AppleBees, but that's ok. It's actually really hard to get all of us in the kitchen anyways :P. Since I can't talk about what I didn't cook we'll talk about my Fix-It Friday with I Heart Faces. Our pic this week was taken by Angie Arthur. I will post the before and my edits will come after. I really hope you enjoy. All for now.

A Troubled Heart

Well, you know that sigh of relief you should feel when you have everything in order. Well, I had that, for a minute. I was relieved when I finished buying the curriculum for this school year even with the little snag of moving right after school starts. Our school year at Frisk Academy is set to start on September 6th and we're moving in September. That's not even really bothering me. I can get set up pretty quickly and I already have a daily schedule planned. What's bothering me now you ask. My sister is going into rehab as I type. Tonight my dad, with her permission is entering her in a 7 day detox program. My heart aches for her and my little niece. This is the same niece that was at the birth of in March. I wish I could be there, but I know everything is taken care of. My dad assures me that little miss is going to be very well taken care of while my sis is detoxing. When you say your daily prayers, please add my sister to that list and especially little miss. All for now.

My Crazy Full Week

Holy Cow! What a crazy week it has been. This past week our church had our VBS program which is always amazing and my kids had a blast. It makes me feel so great to hear my kids reciting memory verses that they have learned or to be singing the songs they've sung all week. Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 and 8:30 we were at the church and then Friday was Big Man's 6th birthday. That I'm still reeling from. How is my son 6 already? We woke up early on Friday and headed to the zoo. It is very interesting to walk through the zoo in 110 degree heat. You can go through quite a lot of water. Friday night we headed back to the church for the last night of VBS. Saturday night we had big man's party with beef pizza (his favorite) and dirt cake. Yummo! It was so awesome. Now my week is winding down and I get to start a new one. Check out some of the pics from this wonderful and full week. All for now.

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

Well, my little woman got her first haircut yesterday. Yes I cut off the little curls. Some of you probably don't understand this, but then again that is why she is mine and not yours. Just sayin. I do not have any pics what with daddy not being here, I really didn't have anyone to hold the camera. She is still my gorgeous little woman. Also today I went ahead and gave Big Man his birthday present. Yes, it is still a week away, but again with daddy gone, he has been kinda down lately and I decided to take him to the zoo for his birthday next week. I'll post some pics of the very cool new (and bigger) bike later. It has been a day so I think I'll go crash. All for now.

Photography: Photo Shoot of a beautiful little girl

What a great day. Spent some wonderful time with some great friends and had yummy food to go with it. I have to say though the favorite part of my day was the photo shoot I had today. I took some shots of a very happy and lively little girl. Some of you know that this is a passion for me and it was so much fun. She was comfortable right from the start and before we knew it, it was over. If you want to see the shots, head on over to my facebook site, Dee's Photography, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Copperas-Cove-TX/Dees-Photography/123980267557 , and check it out. If you would like to book a session, let me know. Don't forget, we're moving to Kentucky soon. My price list is on my site. I really hope you enjoy the shots as much as I loved taking them. All for now.

Photography: Fix-It Friday #63

Well, I know a lot of people have been asking about Fun Food Friday. I promise, it will return. The kitchen in this house is so tiny that it makes things difficult. However, I can do my Fix-It Friday with I Heart Faces. This week's photo was taken by Angie Arthur. They are definitely cute little girls. Here is the original and my edits. There are a couple. I hope you enjoy.

Information is Bliss!!!!

Well, with hubby only a couple of weeks into school he called me yesterday to tell me we are moving to Kentucky. Don't worry. I'm not naive enough to think that things cannot change. This is the army. I'm pretty excited. This is something new. I've been to Kentucky numerous times in my life, hey, I even have a relative there, but I've never lived there so this shall be an adventure. We are going to be in a little town outside of Louisville. As soon as hubby gets back we will be getting things in order and heading out so I figured this is long overdue. Texas has been our home for almost 6 years and I'm definitely going to miss it. So here are the pics from our home that we sold. A lot of memories have been made in that house. All three of my children had their 1st birthday in that house. I hope you enjoy them. All for now.
