Well, what can I say? Christmas was absolutely wonderful this year. Why? This year all five of us were under the same roof again. That's what makes for a great Christmas. I was reassured that the principles we try to teach our children to live by are sticking. As we watched Charlie Brown Christmas on Christmas Eve, Bryson looked at me with a huge smile on his face and said, "Mommy, I remember this story, this is what you taught the other day" as Linus began "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, good will toward men." As he finished I looked at Bryson and asked, "Bryson, do you know what Christmas is about?" and he said, "Christmas is when we celebrate Jesus's birthday, right?" It's all worth it. Children are our true test of character. I hope my job is pleasing in the eyes of God. I thank Him everyday for what He has given to me. All for now.
